Senior Business Analyst (Insurance)

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of large-scale projects by collaborating with colleagues globally to understand their processes and requirements. Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, you will leverage your extensive experience and advanced analytical skills to analyse local processes, develop global solutions, and facilitate efficient development processes. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across different countries and cultures.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues in various countries to understand local processes and requirements.
- Analyse local processes and requirements to assist in the development of global processes and solutions.
- Produce a range of Business Analysis outputs, including business requirements, business process diagrams, use case diagrams, user stories, and user journeys.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Solution Architects to ensure the development process is efficient, effective, and transparent to the business.
- Exercise curiosity to influence decisions aligned with program strategy and objectives.
- Take leadership on assigned areas of work, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
- Balance the ability to see the "big picture" solution with attention to detail when required.
- Provide team coaching and mentoring to junior business analysts.
- Utilise negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills to drive consensus and resolve issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IT systems, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and business analysis methodologies including Agile.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment while maintaining trust at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in business analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Over 15 years of experience in large-scale insurance projects with deep knowledge of insurance concepts and terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with business and technical subject matter experts.
- Advanced business analysis skills and analytical ability to understand complex subjects and translate knowledge into deliverables.
- Experience producing various Business Analysis outputs using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Visio.
- Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) is desirable.
- Excellent team player with the ability to lead and mentor others.
